Job titles available for Level 3 Mechanics

Mechanical Assembler

A mechanical assembler works in a production or assembly line, putting together pieces of material to create the components that assemblers combine to make a finished product for customers. Some duties of this role is understanding how to use tools safely, reading product blueprints or design documents and sometimes testing the finished piece to ensure it meets company standards. This type of job is a great option for level 3 mechanics because it involves using familiar tools and mechanical knowledge to create a functional physical product.

Welder

A welder joins metal parts using a tool that generates intense heat. A welder can also polish and smooth out metal surfaces they weld together. They will use either, a computer to remotely control equipment or hand-held equipment to cut or join metal parts, fill a hole or fix seams in metal.


The are many duties of being a welder, here are some of them;

  • A welder must be able to study blueprints and calculate the dimensions of the metal they need to weld.
  • Inspect materials or structures before welding them, as well as monitoring the metal to ensure it doesn’t overheat.
  • Maintain the equipment they are working with, as well as control and monitor the flame and materials.

Maintenance Technician

A maintenance technician maintains various mechanical systems. Maintenance technicians perform basic, but varied work on many systems like HVACs, electrical wiring and sprinklers, plus general upkeep, like painting and landscaping. This role involves regularly inspecting these areas and responding to requests from clients about problems that occur. Maintenance technicians and mechanics, both work with mechanical systems and perform repairs, which makes this job an easy switch from working on automobiles to learning about mechanical upkeep on an organisation’s property. The salary for a Maintenance technician is a high salary, however if you became a Maintenance supervisor the salary is a lot higher.

Service Technician

A service technician visits the residences and businesses of clients to install and maintain products and appliances. In this type of role, a technician may specialise in a specific product, like water heaters, or may work with many types of products, like washers and dryers. Moreover, service technicians may drive trucks or lorries containing products and tools, to install new or repair existing electrical or plumbing products for customers.
Becoming a service technician is a great opportunity for an experienced mechanic because you have the advantage of doing this role, as mechanical skills can be very useful in this field, as service technicians often repair the insides of products and may use their knowledge of motors and other machinery.

One of the highest paid salary is a service technician, and your skills and knowledge is a great benefit. Even though a maintenance technician has a smaller salary compare to a service technician, this role is one of the easiest roles for a mechanic to adapt to.
