What Multi-skills Training Courses are available at MTC?

MOT Training Course, Class 1 & 2

This course is to become a fully qualified MOT tester for motorbikes, mopeds and scooters. This course is a 2 day course and is £550.00.

MOT Training Course, Class 4 & 7

This course is to become a fully qualified MOT tester for cars and vans. This course is a 4 day course and is £695.00.

MOT Managers Course

This course is for individuals who want to manage an MOT Vehicle Test Centre. This course is a 3 day course and is £495.00.

VTAA Level 3 Course

This course is to help technicians without a Level 3 qualification to become qualified to proceed onto the MOT Training Course. This course is a 4 day course and is £695.00.

Hybrid Training Course, Level 1

This electric vehicle training course is to raise awareness of hybrid vehicles. This course is a 2 day course and is £250.00.

Hybrid Training Course, Level 2 Light Vehicles

In the course, you will focus on working safely on HEV’s and the maintenance and repairs of the vehicles. This course is a 2 day course and is £450.00.

Hybrid Training Course, Level 2 Buses

This course is similar to the course layout as the Level 2, Light Vehicles, however you will develop the knowledge and skills on hybrid buses, instead of on light vehicles. This course is a 2 day course and is £450.00.

Hybrid Training Course, Level 2 Heavy Goods Vehicles

This course is for technicians that want to develop their knowledge and skills around hybrid heavy goods vehicles. This course is a 2 day course and is £450.00.

Hybrid Training Course Level 3

This hybrid mechanic course is designed for technicians to gain skills and knowledge on how to work safely and confidently on hybrid vehicles and understanding the construction and functions of the battery models and related components. This course is a 4 day course and is £695.00.

What documents are required for our MOT Courses?

The documents that are required for our MOT courses vary for each course.


The MOT Training Course 1 & 2, there is no previous qualification needed, however you are required to;
⦁ Have some experience in these types of vehicles
⦁ .Hold a valid full motorbike licence
⦁ Have no ‘unspent’ convictions for criminal offences connected with the MOT Testing Scheme or the motor trade, or involving acts of violence or intimidation.
⦁ Be ‘of good repute’

The MOT Training Course, Class 4 & 7 you will need the following;
⦁ Have a current and full UK Driving Licence for the vehicle classes you want to test
⦁ Be a skilled mechanic with at least 4 years full-time employment in the service and repair of the vehicle types to be tested
⦁ A level 3 qualification
⦁ Have no ‘unspent’ convictions for criminal offences connected with the MOT Testing Scheme or the motor trade, or involving acts of violence or intimidation
⦁ Be ‘of good repute’

The MOT Managers Course has no entry requirements for this qualification, so you don’t require any previous qualifications. However, you must;
⦁ Be ‘of good repute’
⦁ Have no ‘unspent’ convictions for criminal offences connected with the MOT Testing Scheme or the motor trade, or involving acts of violence or intimidation


The VTAA Level 3 Course, you don’t need any previous qualification, but previous experience is necessary.

What documents are required for our Hybrid Courses?

For the Hybrid Training Course, Level 1 you will need;
⦁ To bring with you your valid ID


For the Hybrid Training Course, Level 2 in Light Vehicles, Buses and Heavy Goods Vehicles, you are required to;
⦁ To bring with you your valid ID
⦁ Have knowledge of the motor vehicles

For the Hybrid Training Course Level 3, you are required to;
⦁ To bring with you your valid ID
⦁ Have mechanical experience in the motor trade

Can you come to our garage/test station?

The answer to this question is yes, of course you can. However, we will need at least 10 days notice prior to your visit.
